Eastern North Carolina Episcopal District

presiding elder of the fayetteville district - rev. dr. joseph c. brown, sr.

The Fayetteville District came into being in 1868. This particular time in history our nation was facing a great crisis. the War Between the States was a few years passed and the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln was still a fresh wound of the American people. There were political, social, religious, economic and educational problems in our society. Church leaders worked with rigor and great diligence to being a level of order to their communities. By the close of the 19th century, most of the churches of the Fayetteville District were organized and working.  The 20th century continued with the 19 churches growing and evolving. As we march further into the 21st century unceasing mission remains winning souls for Christ.
